Treasures From The Source

Treasures from the source” is the first book that I wrote. Prior to writing it I had no desire, inspiration or thought for writing a book. One of the poems that I had written among several was one entitled, “Abortion”. One weekend as I was perusing through the “Parade” insert of the then called Morning Advocate newspaper I saw an ad that read, “Win thousands of dollars by entering poems of twenty one lines into a poetry contest etc.”

I entered this poem into the contest and several months later I received an invitation to attend a poetry convention in Washington DC sponsored by The International Society of poets. I decided to attend the convention and while I was there I participated in a poetry symposium. This was a class that taught about how you can write your own book.

When I returned home I gathered together all of the poems that I had written and some that I had begun to write but wasn’t completed. I realized that they were about God, some of which were written from the bible or had some biblical reference to him. He is the most inexhaustible theme or source to write about.

I began writing my last book February 14, 2005. On this day while I was working in the yard at my assigned work location The Lord impressed upon my heart to begin writing about the following topic, “A divided race in a mixed society”. When it was time for me to take my morning break I started writing what was in my mind about the topic. After having written all that was in my mind at that time I put the sheets of paper on my desk until I could take it to my office and place it in my desk drawer. After doing some research I was able to complete 13/4 pages.

After several years had passed I never was able to increase the number of pages although I would do more research and write down more information it always without fail end up being the same as what I had written. In December 2007 when I retired I packed all my personal belongings which included the two pages in a box and brought it home. I placed the box in a storage building that we have in our back yard. It remained there for years until last June 2013.
